Nick has long believed that the cornerstone of a free society is a criminal defense lawyer willing to stand between the individual and the full weight of the government. He draws inspiration from John Adams, who defended British soldiers after the Boston Massacre, and Abraham Lincoln, who used an almanac to prove that an eyewitness could not have seen a murder in the faint moonlight. To Nick, criminal defense is a calling rooted in the nation’s founding legal principles: everyone deserves a champion, the process must be fair, and government power must always be challenged.
Nick has long viewed his role in life as standing up for people whose voices are often ignored or overwhelmed by the system. He believes that every person—regardless of the allegations they face—is entitled to an unwavering advocate who will stand by their side and fight for them when it matters most.
Born and raised in Kalamazoo, Nick has always had a deep appreciation for his Michigan roots and the communities he serves. Outside of the office, he enjoys keeping up with current events, following politics, and exploring new technology and AI trends. He also unwinds by rewatching Christopher Nolan and Denis Villeneuve films or becoming immersed in his favorite computer game, convincing himself that mastering virtual strategy somehow counts as “professional development.”
