Takura Nyamfukudza Publishes on the Immigration Consequences of Criminal Convictions

Takura Nyamfukudza published an article on the immigration consequences of criminal convictions in Briefs, the newspaper of the Ingham County Bar Association. The article focused on the effect of the United States Supreme Court’s decision in Padilla v Kentucky – and the subsequent decision of Chaidez v United States – and the responsibilities on criminal defense attorneys to explain the immigration consequences of a conviction to clients. The article was well-received, and Takura provided a summary of the case law, as well as tips for practitioners in dealing with these challenging cases.
