Michigan Joint Task Force on Jail and Pretrial Incarceration

After spending nine months collecting information and input, the Michigan Joint Task Force on Jail and Pretrial Incarceration (MJTFJPI) recently released a report with 18 recommendations. The task force’s work is not done though. Takura Nyamfukudza is honored to be a member of the MJTFJPI. However, he is most excited about the current phase of the task force’s charge. Which is helping the legislature breathe life into the recommendations that are aimed at protecting victims, the public, and the rights of everyone. Indeed, criminal justice reform is on the horizon.
